Unfortunately, health insurance is something many employers don't offer to part-time employees. And, going outside of employer-provided health insurance doesn't leave many options open.
The Affordable Care Act and enrolling in private health insurance may be available routes but, likely not the most affordable health insurance option out there.
But, we've tracked down nearly a dozen companies that offer health insurance to their part-time workers. These are some of the best part-time jobs with health insurance.

1. Starbucks
Starbucks is a global retail coffee shop chain. It is one of the largest and most well-known coffee shops in the world. They're known for their ethical sourcing, signature line of drinks like Frappucino's and more, innovative food and drink menu, and community engagement, supporting local organizations and global causes.
They offer full-time and part-time workers comprehensive benefits, including health insurance (medical, dental, and vision)!
As a part-time employee, you also have access to additional benefits like life insurance, vacation, and tuition reimbursement are also available, among other benefits.
Eligible part-time workers include cafe attendants and baristas. To be eligible for benefits, they must:
- Work at least 240 hours over a three-consecutive-month period.
- Once the minimum hours are met, eligibility will happen the first day of the second month afterward
2. Trader Joe’s

Home Depot is a popular home improvement store in the U.S. They also operate in Canada and Mexico.
Home Depot offers online and in-store shopping for their customers interested in home improvement and home repair products.
They are a major player in the home improvement industry, and if you live in a big city, you've probably seen their stores in your neighborhood.

Staples is a retail office goods store. They are a pretty well-known company in the U.S. that's been in existence for decades.
At Staples, you can find office goods like:

- Computers
- Computer accessories, and also much more
They offer an array of benefits to full-time and also part-time workers. While they offer a bunch of different benefits to part-timers, health insurance is not one of them, sadly.
Part-time employees do receive dental and vision insurance. Additionally, benefits like life insurance, short-term disability, 401(k), and other benefits are offered.
